Nagaland’s losing spree at the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019 continued on Monday as fellow T20 debutants Manipur trounced the team by 10 wickets during their Group A encounter at the Devineni Venkata Ramana Praneetha Ground, in Mulapadu Andra Pradesh.


Electing to bat after winning the toss, Nagaland managed to score a total of 132 for 7 in 20 overs .


Manipur’s bowlers led by Priyojit Singh (3/23) restricted Nagaland to a weak total. Abrar Kazi (36) was the top scorer from the team.


In reply, Manipur openers Mayank Raghav and Prafullomani Singh reached the target in just 16.4 overs, with the former knocking 80 off 45 balls and the latter on 51 runs.


After three matches, Nagaland are hovering at the bottom of the Group A table without any win, with three more to go.


On February 27, the team will play against group leader Jharkhand, followed another with Kerala on February 28.


Nagaland’s last match is against Delhi on March 2.
