App developed by Naga lad makes it to App Store’s Top 100 charts

Dimapur, May 9 (MExN): ‘Devil boy stickers by O Jungio’, an emoji stickers app developed by Ovungthung Jungio from Nagaland recently charted at 73 in the Apple App Store’s Movies & TV section.

According to Jungio, the app is listed among heavy hitters like Netflix and Apple’s own streaming app.

Jungio `said that he made the stickers, numbering about a dozen, using "all but a computer mouse and an old HP laptop" running a trial version of Adobe Photoshop.

“It took close to a week to design the bunch; all of it had been made from scratch sans photo references,” he added.

It is currently sitting on an 83.7K app icon impressions and 3.27K downloads, Jungio informed. Majority of the download were made on the App Store while a chunk of it was also reportedly processed on the Mojilala marketplace.

In simple words, app icon impression is the number of times an app icon has been viewed on the App Store.

At present, Jungio has two packages up for sale – the ‘Devil boy stickers’ pack and another titled ‘Bat of Gotham’, a Batman-themed pack, which is also reportedly picking up on download numbers.

Jungio who learned how to operate Photoshop and learned design principles watching tutorials on YouTube shared, “It feels great to see your work validated by people over the world who have no inkling about me, the artist, or the little nondescript place in the hills called Nagaland the art came from.”

“It also serves as a reminder that if you are keen about clocking numbers in the attention economy, you’d have to look beyond our little paradise,” he added.

The Devil Boy stickers designed by O Jungio and powered by MojiLaLa currently has a 5 on 5 rating.  It is available on the App store and one can access it through the given link:  https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1173320489.
