Chevening in India announces Fellowships & Scholarships

Chevening, a flagship global Fellowships and Scholarships award scheme of the UK’s government has announces applications for various programmes for Indian students. Chevening in India awards scholarships and fellowships to “future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.” 

India runs the largest Chevening programme in the world and each year up to 110 scholars & fellows are sent to the United Kingdom for various programmes, a press release informed.  The programmes are funded fully by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, UK.

Here are the current openings for applicants from India: 

Scholarship for a 1 yr Master’s degree

Outstanding graduates with at least two years’ work experience are invited to pursue a one-year Master’s degree at any recognised university in the UK, in a subject of their choice for  2021/2022 Chevening Scholarships.

Fellowship Programmes:

The Chevening Cyber Security Fellowship:  It is aimed at mid-career professionals with demonstrable leadership potential in the field of cyber security /policy in India. It is a 10 weeks programme hosted by Cranfield University and will commence in March 2021.

Chevening Research, Science and Innovation Leadership Fellowship (CRISP):  It is aimed at mid-career professionals with high potential in the fields of science, innovation, business & policy in India and Sri Lanka. It is a 10 weeks programme hosted by St. Cross College, University of Oxford and will commence in April 2021.

Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellowship

It is aimed at mid-career journalists from the South Asia region (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bangladesh). The programme takes an informed and evidence-based approach to key policy debates and offers an opportunity to explore the range of approaches taken by the UK and the South Asia region. It is a 10 weeks programme in University of Westminster, commencing March 2021.
