The Lead Bank office, Wokha, in collaboration with the After 20s Band, organised a cleanliness drive as part of the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign on September 30 with the initiative commencing from the Public Ground, Wokha.

The cleanliness drive saw participation from various NGOs, including Metamorphosis, the Tsumang Youth Organisation, New Wokha Village Youth Organisation, and New Wokha Village Students’ Union, alongside representatives from nine bank branches and the district administration.

Around 150 volunteers dedicated their time to cleaning two key locations: the Public Ground and the area near the Post Office in Wokha.
C Yanthan, District Manager of Lead Bank Wokha expressed gratitude to all participating organisations and individuals. He noted, however, his disappointment regarding the high levels of litter in the district, urging citizens to adopt more responsible waste disposal practices. "Cleanliness is a moral responsibility that everyone should embrace," he stated.

The After 20s Band also appealed the community to uphold cleanliness and emphasising that “cleanliness is next to godliness.” They highlighted that maintaining a clean environment is a vital way of serving the community and promoting a better living space.

The band thanked all volunteers for their efforts and called on residents to cease littering, contributing to a cleaner, more inviting town.
