DRDA employees begin phase wise agitation

State government employees working under the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), who had called for phase-wise agitation in protest against the non-release of salaries for several months, today hoisted black flags in their respective district offices. Employees were also seen wearing black arm bands. The black flags in all offices and wearing of black arm bands is likely to continue till August 22.
A representation informing this was earlier submitted to the State Government on August 9. The same has been submitted to all the DCs in the state for information, Chubaneken Jamir, Project Officer informed over phone.
Officials of the DRDA also informed that after the representation was submitted on August 9, no official response or assurance has been received with till date. However, the state government is seeking report submissions from the DRDAs and further expressed some probable move in the next few days.
The next move of the agitating employees will include a pen down strike from August 23 to 30. Following this, a mass casual leave will be called from September 2-6.
