Shamator District Administration led by Athrong SDO (C) and under Mission Shakti-SANKALP-BBBP-DHEW on September 28 organised exposure trip for Adolescents Friendly Health clinic to Sangphur Village Health and Wellness Center the resource person was Epibeni Lotha CHO Sangphur HWC spoke on the theme Menstrual Hygiene, Early marriage, Gender sensitization and HIV & AIDS. Staffs of HWC also enacted a role play on the importance of girls Education. Free sanitary pads were also distributed to the young Adolescents girls of Christian High School Shamator under BBBP. The chairman of Sangphur Village Council also exhorted the young girls to be an asset of the society.
The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) concluded its blood donation camp in collaboration with the Blood Centre, District Hospital Dimapur on September 28. Donors from various tribal units of DNSU, Muslim Youth Dimapur, and other organizations came forward to support this cause. Dr. Rongsen Longkumer from Blood Centre emphasized, “Voluntary blood donation ensures a safe and adequate blood supply. Every pint donated can save up to three lives.” DNSU and Blood Centre, District Hospital Dimapur have appealed for continued community support to strengthen the blood bank.Neidilhou Keditsu, Director, Economics & Statistics, Nagaland along with officials attended the Regional Training Workshop on State Income and Related Aggregates at Agartala, Tripura from September 23-27. The workshop was organised by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Government of India in collaboration with the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Tripura.
Zeme Baptist Church Kohima organised a one-day seminar with the theme ‘Spiritual father’ at the church premises Midland Kohima on September 28. The resource persons for the seminar were Senior Pastor Lotha Baptist Church Rev Dr Benry Lotha and Senior pastor Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima Rev Dr Kevekhalo Lasuh. The resource persons spoke on various topics which were Spiritual father: understanding the faced by church leaders, church mission and relationship with family. More than 40 young and old fathers of Zeme Baptist Church attended the seminar.Attending the conference of Japanese Association of South Asian Studies (JASAS) at the National Museum of Ethnology, Osaka , Japan on September 28 and 29, Vice Principal of Yingli College, Dr B Henshet Phom presented a paper on the topic, "The basic religious concept of the Phom Naga tribe of Nagaland" on September 28. Dr N Nyejat Konyak, guest faculty at Assam University, Diphu Campus presented a paper entitled "Politics of salt trade between Eastern Nagas and the valley kingdom in pre-colonial of Northeast India."
The Unity College NSS Cell/volunteers carried out cleanliness activity at Rajbari Kachari (Ruins of Ford) Dimapur under the banner ‘‘Cleaning of Heritage Sites and Monuments’’ on September 28. This drive focused on collection of plastic waste, cleaning and sprucing up the foot path and sweeping away waste materials within the site. The activity was in line with the directives from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Regional Directorate of NSS, to carry out Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) or Swachh Bharat Mission Campaign.
