Smart School: Unique leadership curriculum for schools

Dimapur, August 9 (MExN): PeoplePro, a trainers and consultant firm having its base in Bangalore, has launched its ‘Smart School’ leadership training programme in Nagaland. The company which provides holistic development and leadership based training to schools, teachers and parents, has launched the programme in four private schools in Nagaland. 

Briefing the media on the concept and purpose of Smart School, Centre Director Darlyn Wotsa said that, Smart School is a unique leadership curriculum for schools. The programme has over 150 modules with relevant topics which can be adopted as part of the regular school curriculum, she said. Smart School brings a totally new dimension into the school curriculum by adding leadership based modules to effect a holistic development in every child. The programme includes social skills, life skills, personality skills, character development, relationship skills and value inspiration. Every module is customized based on the age and learning habits of the children. “The idea is to strengthen the balance of growth in children who are today faced with issues and challenges,” Wotsa said. 

Smart School modules are relevant and realistic based on research and development. It allows learning to be applied in their daily lives. It also adopts programmes like community visits and awareness campaign. Smart School adopts highly defined tools and materials for learning which are fun and interactive for children.   

The one year programme provides trainers who conduct one class each week for classes 1 to 12. The trainers assist the school in meeting their objectives. It also has skill enhancement workshops for teachers as well as parents. Through these workshops, the academic teachers are inspired to reach beyond their conventional role as teachers. 

PeoplePro’s Smart School is accessible not only to private school but government schools as well. The programme was launched two months back in the north east. Apart from the four schools in Nagaland, two other schools from Shillong have adopted the programme as part of their school curriculum. Some of the best reputed schools in India have also partnered with PeoplePro in the programme.
