Is media sensationalizing news in Nagaland?

Those who voted YES had this to say:
•    Though it may not be intentional, media carry a lot of sensationalized news in Nagaland.
•    Through media, even a simple person can roam to the outside world with less effort.
•    The media in Nagaland is not mature and analytical enough and so tendency is there in some papers to appear like they are sensationalizing news, even if they may not intend to. Media in Nagaland needs more maturity.

Those who voted NO had this to say:
•    No, sensational stories will obviously come out as sensational news and the public likes reading the true facts. A follow up on those stories would be appreciated.
•    Some of the media in Nagaland are responsible for sensationalizing, but then there are also some which do a lot more investigative and thorough reporting.
•    In fact, I’m yet to read any particular news that had captured the imagination of the people to call it sensationalizing news in Nagaland. It is the job of the media to highlight all possible aspects of the society - positive as well as negative and unbiased reporting. Media plays an important role in the society in moulding the public opinion and shaping the policies of the government as well. There lies a big responsibility of the media in any form.
•    Its not a question of sensationalizing, but its a matter of not representing issues in a deeper way. Naga media still needs to mature, and in all the limitations they function, we need to give them credit. Trying to survive in the presence of so many factions and governments and groups that are craving for attention must be suffocating, but somehow the Naga media is doing well. I feel if the public, factions and governments gives the Naga media the space to do their job well, the quality of the news will be much better all round.
•    Not even upto the level some of the states are doing. Media should be made available.
•    No! I think media in Nagaland are too diplomatic and project news using only blinkers. Today, we need a lot of critics and sensationalist journalist to investigate all the scams; the growing corruption, extortion, violence etc by ouir politicians and government servants, businessmen, psuedo-nationalist ect, but media in Nagaland are navigated by many negative factors... etc

Those who voted MAY BE had this to say:
•    Some are and some are not. Important thing is for the public readers to know the difference. Unfortunately, public reading is very little and there is inclination for people to want more gossipy new, rather than real information that will make a difference for them. Overall, the newspapers in Nagaland are one of the best in the northeast when we compared them. But we have a long way to go when it comes to television and radio media.
•    Don’t know exactly but yes!!
•    Cos Naga did, not maintain their dignity, n if the leader of Naga continues to be like this their heritage will be.......... so, when they stop their dirty game then only the good result of Nagaland will be lay, thanks
•    And it has to...to make into the limelight....the best is from the positive note....
